Roast beef with a spiced herb rub

The herb spice rub used on the beef in this recipe gives it an intense flavour.

  • Beef roast (fillet or rump or sirloin)
  • KNORR beef cubes, crumbled
  • Mayonnaise
  • Cayenne pepper
  • Coarse black pepper
  • Crushed chilli flakes
  • Dried herbs
  • Corn flour
  • 2 cloves garlic, chopped

Preparation Method

  • Preheat the oven to 180 degrees or prepare a braai fire
  • In a bowl, mix the mayonnaise, corn flour, chopped garlic, dried herbs, cayenne pepper, crumbled KNORR cubes. Coarse black pepper and crushed chilli flakes
  • Pack the seasoning paste on the top and sides of the roast and place on a roasting sheet
  • Roast for 40 minutes and serve with potatoes and salad
  • ALTERNATIVELY, place the rub beef roast in a pot with 250ml water, and simmer with the lid on for an hour, ensuring that the water does not dry out
